Art Advertisment III

Art Advertisment II

Art Advertising

While looking through an art magazine, I noticed advertisements for contemporary art. I found the different ways of presenting contemporary art intersting. Most forms of 2D advertiseing utalize the medium of photography. Even though in Glenn Kaino we are presented with a close up image of his painting, I think it is important to remember that we are looking at a photograph of the painting.

I found this photo of the photo thought prevoking, because it elevates this specific proccess of photography to what would appear as high art.
However in the case of sculpture the photograph is an assential tool for display. As a result of photography the work is more accesible to the public. The Audience-even though unable to ihhabit the same space as the sculpture-can still appreciate the work.

Photo in a Photo

In this work I focused on the location of display. By combineing the black and white print with the digital medium it creates a sort of nestalga. The choice to display the print where the picture was taken changes the context. The viewer has a stronger sense that the photo is of a "real" location.

Light and camera effects

In this photo I am trying to bring attention to the waves of smoke in the air.
These are photos taken with a film negative effect.

Smoke

The focus in this body of work is to bring attention to the beauty of smoke. Incense has many religious affiliations. I connect with the smoke of incense through meditation, focusing on the sight and smell. My goal was to accentuate-with light- the aesthetic appeal smoke has.
